Adeline 'Mickey' Buenger, 89, of Hamden, wife of the late Robert Buenger, Sr. passed away surrounded by her family on April 26, 2014 in the St. Raphael Campus of YNNH after a brief illness. Loving mother of Donna Smith, Karen Grahn and Robert (Deborah) Buenger all of Hamden. Sister of George (Phyllis) Froehlich of West Haven, Harold (Frances) Froehlich of Hamden and Donald (Eleanor) Froehlich of West Haven. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a brother William Froehlich, and two sons-in-law, Jack Smith and James Grahn. Mickey was born in West Haven January 9, 1925, the daughter of the late William K. and Marie E. Schwaller Froehlich. In her youth she loved roller skating. She was a longtime member of Christ Lutheran Church. She was a 50 year member of the New Haven County Bowling Assoc. and enjoyed league bowling in her earlier years at Hamden Lanes, and later Colony Lanes. Mrs. Buenger was an avid gardener, enjoyed snowmobiling in VT, and was well known for her holiday village decorations. She enjoyed politics and also volunteered at the polls on Election Day. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all. Relatives and friends may visit with her family on Wednesday April 30 from 4-8 pm, and Thursday morning from 9-9:30 AM at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 WHITNEY AVE., HAMDEN. Her funeral service will be held Thursday morning at 10 am at Christ Lutheran Church. Interment in Beaverdale Memorial Park.
