Aguedo Melendez-Sanchez, 82, of Meriden, loving husband of Leticia (Delgado) Melendez, passed away on August 4, 2023 at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown, CT. He was born in Gurabo, PR on February 5, 1941, a son of the late Rufo Melendez and Berta Sanchez. Besides his wife Leticia, Aguedo is survived by his children, Isai Melendez and his wife Maribel, and Abigail Torres and her husband Alan, his sisters, Aida Loiz and her husband Concepcione, Ruth Melendez-Sanchez and her husband Eliude, and Alberta Melendez and her husband Angel Luis Morales, and his brother, Juan Melendez-Sanchez and his wife Lydia DeLeone. He also leaves his grandchildren, Isai Melendez, Jr., Jonathan Melendez, Priscilla Flores, Jasmin and Matthew Torres, and his great-grandchildren, Nolan, Leo, Israel, and Anthony Melendez. Besides his parents, he was pre-deceased by his son, Aguedo "Blanco" Melendez, and his siblings, Rafaela, Luis, Jorge, Maria, Pedro, Luis, and Rene Melendez. Aguedo worked as a master mechanic for CT Container Corporation for many years until his retirement.
Friends are invited to visit with Aguedo's family on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at Alpha & Omega Church, 134 Springdale Ave., Meriden, CT 06451. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held in the church at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be held at the convenience of his family.
