Alan R. Davis, 73, of North Haven, husband of Joyce Barboza Davis, passed away July 17, 2014 after an extended illness. Father of Jarita Davis of West Falmouth, MA and Erick Davis of Chapel Hill, NC. Grandfather of Lyra Hitchcock-Davis. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was born in Boston, MA on June 8, 1941, the son of the late Edgar J. and Ruth Ransom Davis, and had resided in North Haven since 1978. Alan proudly served in the US Air Force from 1959 to 1963 and later was employed for the FAA as an Electronics Technician at Sikorsky Airport in Stratford from 1967 to 2002. He then worked for the Raytheon Corp. from 2002 until retiring in 2006. He enjoyed fishing, jazz, and chess. (Service changed to SUNDAY) Relatives and friends may visit with his family on SUNDAY, July 27, from 5 to 8 PM at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 WHITNEY AVE., HAMDEN. A Funeral Service will be held at 8 PM. Interment will be Monday at 1 pm in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.
