Wallingford- Alvina Bortle Smith, 93, wife of the late Reginald A.E. Smith passed away Monday., September 2, 2002 in the Masonic Geriatric Healthcare Center. She was born in New Haven, November 28, 1908 and was a daughter of the late Cornelius and Alvina Schultheiss Bortle. She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Clarke of Hamden, a son, Fred Morris Smith of New Haven, 2 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and a nephew. She was predeceased by her first husband, Morris B. Smith and a sister, Isabelle Somerville. Funeral arrangements are private and under the direction of BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden.
