Obituary

MERIDEN - Amelia "Amy" Wirth, 102, formerly of 55 Willow St., died Sunday, Oct. 16, 2005 at Meriden Center. Born in Meriden on Dec. 11, 1902, she was the daughter of the late Karl and Antoinette Tiege Wirth. She was a graduate of Pequod Business School and was employed as a clerk and receptionist at Domonel Press in Meriden. She was a member of the Y.W.C.A. and the Meriden Senior Citizens, with whom she went on many tours. She is survived by two nephews, Wayne Wirth of Meriden and Warren Wirth of Silver Springs, FL; three grandnieces, Andrea Wirth of Margate, FL, Barbara Wirth of Stratford and Margaret Wirth of Middletown; and three grandnephews, Sean Wirth of Spring, TX, Daniel Wirth of Kalamazoo, MI and Walter Wirth of Naugatuck. She was predeceased by a sister, Lillian Wirth and three brothers, Carl Wirth, Frederick Wirth and Henry Wirth. The funeral will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Beecher and Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 9 to 10 a.m. prior to the service.
