At his home, March 31, 2003, Angelo Santillo, 94, of Colony St., Hamden, brother of Frances Melillo of Hamden, Geraldine Roche with whom he resided and Dorothy Tamassia of Port St. Lucie, FL. Also survived by several nieces and nephews and their families and children. He was predeceased by a brother, Harry Santillo and sisters, Gloria Palluotto and Julia Masotta. He was born in New Haven, Jan. 5, 1909 a son of the late Bartholomew and Carmela Palmieri Santillo. He and his late brother, Harry cultivated over 80 acres of land and were owners of the Santillo Fruit & Vegetable Stand. The farm is now the Town Walk Dr. and Hill Dr., Hamden. Angelo later volunteered as a greenhouse worker and a flower grower for Zentek Farm of Cheshire. After his retirement he traveled throughout the world. Funeral from BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden, Friday, April 4 at 9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends may call Thurs. from 4 - 8 p.m. Interment in St. Mary Cemetery, Hamden.
