Mrs. Anice ''Anne'' Jervis Eckle, 79, of the Durham Regent Retirement Community, died Tues., April 1, 2003 in Durham Regional Hospital in North Carolina. Mrs. Eckle was born in Norwich, CT and raised in West Haven. She attended the West Haven schools and secretarial school in New Haven. Mrs. Eckle began her working career with the Security Insurance Co. in New Haven where she met her late husband, John ''Jack'' Marsh Eckle. She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church and a member of the Philanthropic Educational Organization. The Eckle's lived in Durham, NC from 1957 until 1987 and Mrs. Eckle worked for Allenton Realty in the insurance division for 21 years. They moved to Austin, TX in 1987 and remained there until returning to Durham in 1991. She is survived by a son Gregory Jervis Law and his wife Linda of Carpenteria, CA, a daughter Dayl Filmore Scherich and her husband Ed of Houston, TX, a sister, Janice J. Anderson of Hamden, grandchildren, Deirdre Smith and Charles Kline and 5 great-grandchildren. Service of Interment will be Friday, April 4 at 2 p.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery, West Haven. The family will receive friends at BEECHER & BENNETT TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME, 410 Campbell Ave., West Haven Friday from 1 - 1:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 538 Preston Ave., Meriden, CT 06450.
