Lipcan, Anna Helena Lewandowski Anna H. Lipcan, age 93, of South Shore Dr. East Haven, formerly of New Haven & Branford, passed away February 14, 2009 at CT Hospice in Branford. Married on Nov. 11, 1939 Anna is the wife of Michael T. Lipcan, Sr. Born on November 3, 1915 in New Haven she was a daughter of the late Frank & Helena Lugofet Lewandowski. Besides her husband Anna is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Barbara & her husband Patrick Bagley of Wilmington, DE, her son Michael T. Lipcan, Jr, & his wife JoAnn of Branford; 2 grandchildren, nephews & nieces including Jayne Ryzewski of Branford. Anna was predeceased by a sister Lillian Ryzewski & brothers Stanley, Ludwig, Vincent & Rudolph Lewandowski. A seamstress, she worked for Sunbean Dress Co. for many years and retired from the Alba Dress Co. in 1980. A lifelong member of St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Anna was involved in the Immaculate Conception Society, the Pyrohy Workers and many other church activities. A graduate of the Woodward School Class of 1929, she attended annual reunions for more than 50 years. Relatives and friends may visit with her family on Wednesday at BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Ave. Hamden from 9:00 to 10:30 AM and may later attend a Mass at 12 noon on Wednesday in St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church, New Haven. A Panachyda Service will take place in the funeral home Wednesday morning at 10 AM. Interment will be private. Contributions in her memory may be made to St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 569 George St. New Haven, CT 06510.
