Anne Marie Gilbert, 73, passed away with family by her side on February 19, 2022 at CT Hospice. Born in Detroit, MI on March 28, 1948 to the late George and Elizabeth Doyle Gibson, Anne Marie met her best friend and future husband, Howard "Bob" Gilbert, while in high school. Anne Marie and Bob settled in New Haven, where they raised their family and still call home. An avid reader, she also appreciated opera, enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and the company of German Shepherds. She had been a longtime communicant of St. Mary's Church, and most recently St. Joseph's parish. Above anything else, family and time spent with her husband was most important.
Besides her husband, Anne Marie will be lovingly remembered by her son Jeffrey Gilbert of Boston, MA, her sons & daughters-in-law, Michael & Tracy Gilbert of Hamden, and Steven & Bess Gilbert of Silver Springs MD; granddaughter, Sydney Gilbert; siblings & their spouses, Michael & Christine Gibson of Bloomfield Hills, MI, and Lisa Gibson & Bruce East of Los Angeles, CA; and her sister-in-law & her husband, Patricia & Frank Green of Miami, FL. Predeceased by her sister, Cecilia Gibson.
