Antoinette Rose Hellwig

Antoinette Rose Hellwig, age 93, of New Britain, passed away on July 20, 2026. Born in Philadelphia, PA on October 12, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Guiseppe and Michelina (Lodico) Cavallaro. Ann was the widow of Ernest R. Hellwig. She is survived by her beloved children, Lee, Mark, Keith, and Bonnie; her grandchildren, Travis, Alexandra, Emily, and Logan; and her great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Calem, Vincent, Ella, and Zoe. In addition to her husband, Ann was predeceased by her siblings, Mary, Jean, Peter, and Louise. Ann was also predeceased by her grandson, Keith Jr.

Antoinette raised her family in Milford and South Windsor. Upon retirement she moved to Honolulu, returning to Connecticut to live in Thomaston and Litchfield and subsequently, Msgr. Bojnowski Manor in New Britain, where she died.

Her funeral will leave from Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden, CT on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at 9:30 a.m. for her Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul VI Parish/St. Rita Church, 1620 Whitney Ave., Hamden. Her interment will follow in St. James Cemetery, Manchester, CT. Friends may also visit with her family at the funeral home on Friday, July 31st, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Memorial Contributions in her name may be made to St. Paul VI Parish in Hamden.
