Arthur A. Gallagher, 69, of North Haven, passed away on March 16, 2016, from complications after a valiant struggle with Multiple Sclerosis. Art was born in Philadelphia, PA on December 30, 1946 to the late James and Nancy Remy Gallagher. He was the beloved husband of 43 years to Gail Peterman Gallagher; cherished father of Mary Ann Mehler & her husband Matthew of Acton, MA, Jim Gallagher & his wife Erin of Riverdale, NY, and Michael Gallagher & his partner Nancy Livada of Winchester, MA . Art was blessed to have four grandchildren, Molly, William, Jack, and, Arthur whom he adored. He also leaves his brothers, Jim (Lauren), Dennis (Patricia), Patrick (Phyllis) and his brothers-in-law, Tom (Sally) Peterman and Alan (Mindy) Peterman as well as many nieces and nephews. Art was a graduate of Villanova University and was an avid Villanova basketball fan. He worked for many years for Yale University as the Associate Bursar and was a part of several organizations dedicated to helping students with their student loans. He was a volunteer for AARP as well as the Springs Learning Center. The family would like to thank, from the bottom of their hearts, the impeccable care he received from Branford Hills Health Care Center as well as Connecticut Hospice in Branford. A Memorial Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Therese Church, 105 Leetes Island Road, Branford on Saturday, April 16th at 11:00 am.
