MERIDEN - Arthur Emil Pfeiffer, 83, of 903 East Main St., died Wednesday, July 31, 2002, at MidState Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Gladys Elizabeth Preece Pfeiffer. Born in Meriden on Jan. 17, 1919, he was the son of the late William L. and Eliese Keyes Pfeiffer. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was the owner of Parkway Cleaners in Meriden. He is survived by a son, Arthur John Pfeiffer of Meriden; a sister, Julie Kennison of Sun City, Arizona; a special nephew, Richard Fontaine of Wallingford; a sister-in-law, Helen Pfeiffer of Meriden; two nieces, Donna Cyr and Barbara Bickford, both of Meriden and several other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Gertrude Brunell and Johanna Gagne and three brothers, Walter Pfeiffer, Arnold Pfeiffer and William Pfeiffer. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 5, 2002, at 11 a.m. at the Beecher and Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. The Rev. Wallace Merdinyan will officiate. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery.
