MERIDEN - Arthur A. Valando, 85, of 511 Kensington Avenue died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004 at MidState Medical Center. He was the devoted husband of Patricia Reuss Valando and was a loving family man. Born in Brooklyn, NY on July 28, 1918, he was the son of the late Pasquale and Georgia Smith Valando. He was the owner of the Valando Music Publishing Company in New York City and had served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. Besides his wife, he is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Christina and Joseph Dostilio and two grandchildren, Joseph Arthur Dostilio IV and Dillon James Dostilio, all of Meriden. Relatives and friends may call Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Beecher & Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
