Berlin - Arthur S. Ward, husband of Jacqueline (Touchette) Ward passed away peacefully on Monday, April 13, 2015 at Middlesex Hospital. He was born December 24, 1944 in Meriden a son of the late Leonard A. and Jessie (Miller Scott) Ward. Art retired from Pratt & Whitney Aircraft after 47 years as a machinist. He also worked security for Meriden-Wallingford Hospital, now Midstate Medical Center for 27 years before retiring. The family would especially like to thank Dr. Robert J. Levy and everyone from Connecticut Oncology Group as well Dr. Todd M. Bishop of Middlesex MultiSpecialty Group. Special thanks to all of the staff at Middlesex Hospital for the amazing compassion and care shown to Art and the entire family. In addition to his wife he is survived by a son Scott R. Ward and his wife Lizz of Meriden, two daughters; Kimberly A. Ward and her girlfriend Kim Perssonatti of Meriden and Tara L. Cleary and her husband Daniel of Killingworth, three grandchildren Julia Ward, Daniel Cleary, III and 'Firecracker' to be born this summer, several nieces and nephews and a host of close friends. He was predeceased by a brother, Richard C. Ward and a sister, Betty A. Ward. Relatives and friends may call at the Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Avenue, Meriden on Thursday, April 16 from 4-7:30 p.m. A short service by Rev. Bruce Miller to conclude. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Art's memory may be made to Middlesex Hospital Cancer Center, 540 Saybrook Road in Middletown, CT 06457.
