Barbara Bentley Lassen, 89, of West Haven, loving wife to the late David K. Lassen, passed away on February 9, 2018 in Cheshire. She was born in New Haven on May 31, 1928 to the late Frederick and Rebecca Seleucia Bentley. Barbara is survived by her loving children; Richard Lassen (Charlotte) of Hamden, Sharon Salzo (Michael) of West Haven, Susan Enright (Gerald) of Milford, Paul Lassen (Barbara) of Rutland, VT, and Mark Lassen (Maryann) of Los Altos Hills, CA. She also leaves 15 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her sister Shirley Batty. Barbara attended Boardman Trade School in New Haven. She was a talented and skillful seamstress, crafting her families clothing. While rearing her 5 children she worked as a manager at Homemakers Corner in Orange, passing on her sewing skills and advice to grateful customers until her retirement. She was a kind and loving member of Olivet Baptist Church in Hamden. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service celebrating Barbara's life on Saturday, Feb. 17 at 11am in Olivet Baptist Church, 3762 Whitney Ave., Hamden. Interment will be private.
