Barbara Jeanette Slater, 96, wife of the late Edward Slater, a life-long resident of Bethany and recently of Sun City Center, FL, passed away on November 12, 2021 at South Bay Hospital, Sun City Center, FL. She was born in Branford, CT on August 18, 1925, a daughter of the late Marvin and Mary Saunders; and is survived by her son, Edward Slater of Daytona Beach, FL, daughters, Eileen Menker and her husband Bob of Sun City Center, FL and Denise Pellico and her husband Rick of Cheshire, daughter-in-law Deborah Slater of Port Charlotte, FL, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Besides her husband Edward, she was predeceased by her son, William Slater, brother, Marvin Saunders, and sisters, Elizabeth Withington, Doris Sykes and Carol Salatto. Barbara enjoyed playing cards, bocce, shuffleboard, and doing puzzles. Above all else, she loved spending time with her friends and family in Florida and Connecticut.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 22, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in Carrington Cemetery, Bethany. Memorial contributions in her name may be sent to CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405.
