Meriden - Barbara J. Waite, 87, of 380 Glen Hills Road died Sunday, Nov. 13, at the MidState Medical Center. She was the wife of Richard Waite. She was born in Meriden, June 24, 1918 a daughter of the late Raymond Jopson and Alberta Turner Jopson Skinner. She graduated from the Hartford Academy of Hairdressing. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and she belonged to the Meriden Senior Citizens Knitting Club. She was very religious and was a member of the Meriden Christadelphian Ecclesia. Besides her husband she is survived by two daughters, Roberta J. Tsochandaris of Meriden, Rebecca A. and her husband Walter Estey of Springfield, MA, a son and his wife, Bruce K. and Pat Waite of Newport, OR, a sister Norma Papandrea of Cheshire, nine grandchildren Brian Estey of Springfield, MA, Stephan Tsochandaris of San Francisco, CA., Jared Estey of Warren, MA, Sarah Waite of Corvallis, OR, Rachel Waite of Corvallis, OR, Seth Estey of Springfield, MA, Michael Waite of Newport, OR, Benjamin Waite of Newport, OR, Hannah Estey of Springfield, MA, cousins, and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Thurs. Nov. 17, at 11 a.m. at the Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave. Meriden. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
