Barbara R. Williams of Hamden died on November 3, 2017. She was born in New Haven on March 21, 1928, a daughter of Roland A. and Gladys T. Russell. She was predeceased by her sister Marjorie R. Hessler. Bobbie was a graduate of Prospect Hill School, and attended Barnard College. She was a long-time member of the Junior League of Greater New Haven, and had been a Board member of the New Haven Symphony Orchestra, and the Children's Center. She was also a former member of the New Haven Lawn Club. Bobbie is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Edward G. Williams (Ned), and by her children Thomas C. Williams (Linda) of New Canaan, CT, and Susan G. Williams of Hamden, CT, as well as her two grandsons Thomas H. Williams and Robert T. R. Williams. There will be a private graveside service in Evergreen Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 70, St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 111 Oenoke Ridge, New Canaan, CT 06840.
