Belle (Cease) Polino Murray, age 86, passed away on August 6, 2014. Belle was born in New Haven on September 6, 1927, the daughter of the late Louis & Fannie Cutler Cease and step-daughter of the late Gertrude Cease. She was formerly of West Haven, Guilford, and lived the last 13 years in Hamden. She was predeceased by her beloved husbands, Thomas Polino and Richard Gordon Murray. Belle was the loving mother of Pamela Gershman & her husband Ronald of Hamden, CT, Frances Polino of NYC, NY, and Kenneth Polino & his wife Cindi of Chapel Hill, NC; sister of Harriett Kulick of East Haven, CT, Maurice Cease of Woodbridge, CT, and the late Albert & Arnold Cease. She also leaves many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews, and a host of friends that she acquired during her amazing life-long journey over the years. She worked as a waitress most of her life in several fine dining establishments, retiring at age 65. She could not cook well, but was an excellent server of the restaurant food and known for her dedication, quick wit, and Beautiful Smile! Prior to her career as a waitress she worked at the Newton- New Haven Die Casting Company a number of years. Belle loved to play Bingo at the Miller Senior Center in Hamden and also had her own Poker Group. She enjoyed Arts & Crafts and had a huge collection of dolls, teddy bears, and clowns. She gave many of them names and greeted them all before breakfast. Belle was very generous and gave many of her cherished dolls and personal possessions to her special friends over the years. Friends may visit with her family at Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home, 2300 Whitney Ave, Hamden on Monday, August 11th, from 8:00 to 10:00 AM, followed by her Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 AM in Ascension Church, 1040 Dunbar Hill Rd, Hamden. Interment will take place in St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven. In lieu of flowers her family would appreciate contributions made to them, to help defray the cost of final expenses, and sent to Pamela Gershman or Frances Polino at 34 Town House Rd, Hamden, CT 06514.
