GRIFFITH, BERNICE F. In Wallingford, November 2, 2003 Bernice Friend Griffith of the Masonc Healthcare Center. Wife of the late William P. Griffith. Born in New Haven on January 4, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Frederick C. and Irene Tuttle Friend. Mrs. Griffith had worked for many years as a Dressmaker. A 50 year resident of Hamden, she moved to Wallingford in 1977. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Yalesville. Bernice was a Past Matron and Treasurer Emeritus of Alice Chapter, # 76, O.E.S. and a Past Mother Advisor of Evergreen Assembly, Order of Rainbow for Girls. She is survived by a daughter Marilyn G. Leibe and her husband William Leibe of South Meriden, a son, W. Whitney Griffith and his wife Anne Griffith of Shrewsbury, Ma. , Grandchildren: Dr. Rabecca Nessel and her husband Dr. Christopher Nessel, Graham Griffith and his wife Rainey Tisdale, Tucker Griffith and Kenneth Leibe, Great Grandchildren; Christopher Nesel, Jr. and Emma Nessel. A funeral service will be held in the Chapel of the Masonic Healthcare Center, Wallingford, on Friday, November 7, at 10 A.M. An Eastern Star Service by Alice Chapter will be held at 9:45 A.M.
