Betty Mae
Jackson
August 17, 1937 – October 12, 2025
After traveling around the sun for 88 years and successfully beating cancer three times, Betty Mae (Little) Jackson entered into eternal rest surrounded by loved ones on October 12, 2025.
She was born on August 17, 1937, to Lula and Frederick Little at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury, Connecticut. She lived in Waterbury and graduated from Crosby High School. She then moved to New Haven before marrying the late Marion "Charles" Jackson. She made Hamden her home for more than 50 years. Betty was the eldest daughter of her family and was predeceased by her siblings: Rosalie Johnson (South Carolina); Frederick Little (New Haven); Priscilla Goodson (Maryland); Charles Little (Las Vegas); and Floyd Little (Las Vegas). She had a host of nephews and nieces and great nephews and nieces.
Left to cherish this strong-willed woman – usually elegantly dressed in high heels – are her three children, Craig, Christina (Brian Lier), Scott (Mandi) Jackson, and stepdaughter Marian "Lisa" (Sydney) Huggins.
We will continue to share the humorous stories of her exploits, which include barging unannounced into her children's homes on a regular basis as well as fabulous, and loud, holiday gatherings. Betty worked as a lunch aide and school assistant in various Hamden Public Schools until she retired to take care of her beloved grandsons, Maxwell and Elijah Jackson.
Services will be held at Beecher and Bennett, 2300 Whitney Avenue, Hamden at 11 AM on Saturday, October 18. The interment will be private at a later date. To send a condolence, see obituary at www.beecherandbennett.com .
