Obituary

North Haven- Betty Ann Stults Kay, 70, formerly of Cooper Rd., passed away peacefully at her residence on Thursday, May l7, 2007 with her children present. Born in St. Louis, Missouri on November 13, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Lester B. and Estelle Stults. She received her B.S. degree in Nursing from the Missouri School of Nursing in 1958 and did her graduate work in Nursing at Washington University. Despite a lifelong struggle with mental illness, she found tremendous comfort and satisfaction in caring for the infirm. Her work with various home care agencies and Hospice marked some of the highlights of her nursing career. Her family and friends will forever remember her courage in the face of her illness and her colorful sense of humor. Ann loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, loved animals, horseback riding, and painting. The family would like to express their thanks to her caregivers at Skyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the comfort and protection they provided during her final years. She is survived by three children and their spouses: Jennifer and Peter Elsemore of Raymond, NH; Pamela and Jess Holler of Ft. Collins, CO; and Ronald F. and Barbara Kay of Brunswick, ME. She is also survived by a sister Virginia Bowers and her husband Ralph, of Columbia, Missouri, and 2 granddaughters, Madigan Behrens Kay of Brunswick, ME and Sara Elsemore of Raymond, NH. She was predeceased by a sister, Corrine Harder of Jackson, CA. A private memorial service for immediate family will be held later in the summer.
