MERIDEN - BettyMae Gurney Stockwell Moran, 73, of 740 Johnson Ave., died Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2005, at Masonic Geriatric Health Care Center. She was the wife of James Ives Moran, Sr. Born in Los Angeles, CA on Feb. 6, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Dickenson and Florence Lillian Johnson Gurney. She and her husband, James were the co-founders of Moran's Television & Appliance in Meriden. She was a member of the Mayflower Society, the Soroptimist Club and the Susan Carrington Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church. Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter and her husband, Cynthia Lous and Gary Ellis of Chaplin, CT; two sons and their wives, James Ives and Susan Beth Moran, Jr. of Meiden and Garry William and Dawn Moran of Meriden; two sisters, Florence Lillian Gudunas of Warehouse Point, CT and Jean Stockwell of Florida; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Lee Maring of Wallingford, James Moran III, Jessica Moran, William Moran, Robert Moran, all of Meriden, Richard Bruno Maslar, Jr. of Chaplin, CT and Michelle Lewis. The funeral will be held Tuesday, Dec. 27, at 11 a.m. at the Beecher and Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. The Rev. Robert Stocksdale will officiate. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from l0 to 11 a.m., one hour prior to the service.
