Bruce Sweyd, 77, of Hamden (formerly of Southern California), the loving husband of Angela (Pelliccio) Sweyd, passed away on January 1, 2024. He was born in Long Island, NY on June 9, 1946, the son of the late Robert and Eileen (MacPherson) Sweyd. In addition to his wife Angela, Bruce is survived by his daughter Courtney Hart and her husband Benjamin, Austin Tancredi and her husband Mark, his sister Robi Mayes and her husband Werner, grandchildren Stella and Truman Hart, Luca Tancredi, and his beloved pup, Pieper. Bruce grew up in Southern California, and was an avid fisherman, loved physics TED Talks, and the Kansas City Chiefs. He honorably served in the U.S. Army infantry division during the Vietnam war and attended UCLA as an ROTC member. He was an attorney by education and a graduate of Cal State Northridge's law program. He had a brilliant and distinguished career practicing law and then was CFO of Original New York Seltzer and VP of Sales and Marketing for Alacer Corp (makers of Emergen-C). In his retirement, Bruce took pride in consulting with entrepreneurs to bring their visions and products to market.
A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, June 9th at 2:00 PM at the Sweyd residence, 265 Brooksvale Avenue, Hamden, CT 06518. For those unable to attend in person, the service will be live streamed at this link: Bruce Sweyd Memorial Service . Use password Bruce1 for access.
