Obituary

In Hamden, Oct. 5, 2003, Carl Robert Carlson of 75 Washington Ave., Hamden, brother of Ann C. Alhberg of Hamden and the late Ruth C. Sunblade. Born in East Haven, March 3, 1916, son of the late Idoff and Annie Carlson. An active member of the Bethesda Lutheran Church, he also was on the Board of the Swedish Aid Society. Carl served as an Officer in the US Navy during WW II in the South Pacific. He attended New Haven College after the war and was employed in the accounting department of the American Greeting Card Co. and later from 1956 to 1980 he worked for Yale University Alumni Fund. He enjoyed playing tennis. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Bethesda Lutheran Church, Wed., Oct. 8 at 12 Noon. Interment in East Lawn Cemetery will be private. Memorial contributions may be sent to: Bethesda Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 305 St. Ronan St., New Haven, CT 06511. Arrangements with BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 WHITNEY AVE., HAMDEN.
