Catherine Romanofsky, age 92, of North Haven passed away on March 9, 2016 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. Catherine was born in New Haven on November 11, 1923, a daughter of the late Konstanty & Pauline Bulka Romanowski. A WWII Navy Veteran, she retired from Southern New England Telephone Company in 1982 after 33 years of employment. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, a former member of the New Haven Woman's Club and the Marion Guild at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Catherine is survived by her brother Eugene L. Romanowski of North Haven and sisters, Josephine Dziamalek of Madison and Theresa Mucha of Hamden and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Jennie Romanowski and Frances Bozentka and her brother John Romanowski. Friends may visit with her family at BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Ave, Hamden on Saturday, March 12th, from 8:30 to 9:30 AM and may attend her Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Hamden. Burial will follow in Beaverdale Memorial Park, New Haven. In lieu of flowers Catherine wished that contributions in her memory may be made to Conn.
