In Branford, July 22, 2003, Charlie Dalton Moon of 25 Deborah Ln., East Haven, husband of Eleonore Bormann Moon. Born in Jenkins County, GA, Dec. 19, 1927, he was the son of the late Robert and Lillie Mae Flanders Moon. Charlie worked for United Technology before founding the Moon Cutter Co. in 1957 in North Haven. A US Army Veteran, he served with the 82nd Airborne Division during the Berlin Airlift. He was a member of Post 89 of the American Legion, Charlie was a Past Master of Hiram Lodge # 1, A.F. & A.M. and served as Associate Grand Marshal for the Grand Lodge of Connecticut. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite, Valley of New Haven and Pyramid Temple of the Shrine. Besides his wife he is survived by daughters; Dorothy - Ann Rome and her husband, Charles, Shirley Tolmei and her husband, Peter, all of East Haven, Lenore Capasso and her husband, Michael of North Branford, sons; Robert C. Moon and his wife, Josee and Charles D. Moon and his wife Shari all of East Haven, a brother, Billie Saxon and his wife, Rose of Wallingford. Grandchildren; Matthew Rome and his wife, Anna, Peter Tolmei and his wife Melanie, Vanessa Tolmei Doheny and her husband, Thomas, Liza-Ann Moon Seipold and her husband, Brian, Robert and Erik Moon, Melissa, Maegan, and Michael Capasso, David and Cory Moon, Tracey Rome Cusano and her husband, Joseph and Holly Rome Lauretti and her husband, Matthew and great -grandchildren: Alannah Doheny and Bryanna Seipold. Funeral service at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 WHITNEY AVE., HAMDEN, Saturday, July 26 at 10 a.m. Friends may call Friday from 4 - 8 p.m. A Masonic Service by Hiram Lodge # 1 at 7:30 P.M.
