Charlotte Richmond Collett, 97, of Meriden, loving wife of 68 years to the late William Collett, passed away on December 11, 2021 after a brief illness. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She never missed a birthday, anniversary, graduation, or other special occasion, and was present in all aspects of her family's life. She relished the opportunity to cuddle each new baby in her family. An active member of her church, she sang in the choir, belonged to the altar guild and worked tirelessly on fundraising through the yearly bazaar. She enjoyed memberships in the YMCA and the Meriden Castle Craig Chapter of AARP. An avid UCONN women's basketball fan, she arranged her schedule around the team's. She loved rooting for her "girls." Charlotte spent her summers at her cottage at Leetes Island in Guilford. She always welcomed guests with cookies and lemonade and many a card game was played on her porch. She was an expert in a variety of games and was often the winner. She worked hard to remain independent in her later years. Her quiet determination will be sorely missed.
