Cheryth C. Townsend, 87 of Hamden, wife of the late John H. Townsend, passed away Nov. 11, 2011. She was born in West Haven, Feb. 16, 1924, a daughter of the late Walter and Gladys Mason Crowther and had resided in Hamden since 1963. She was a realtor with the Cone Realty Co. of Hamden for 25 years prior to her retirement in 1999. Cheryth is survived by a daughter and her husband, Margaret and Richard Stefanec of Hamden, her granddaughter Laura Stefanec of Hamden, nieces and nephews, Barbara, Howard and Bruce Bultinck of Chicago, IL, Anne Malone & Robert Crowther of Branford, and special gratitude is given to her friend and caregiver Betty Humphrey. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a sister Fae Bultinck and a brother Bruce Crowther. Funeral service will be Wednesday, Nov. 16 at 11 a.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 WHITNEY AVE., HAMDEN. Friends may visit with her family Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. Interment in East Lawn Cemetery.
