In New Haven, Oct. 17, 2006, Clifford E. Lindgren, 87, of Home Place, Hamden. He was the loving husband of the late Eivor A. Lindgren and the father of Bradford Lindgren and his wife Ellen and Brian Lindgren, all of Hamden. He was predeceased by a sister, Bernice Lindgren. Mr. Lindgren was born in New Haven, Feb. 24, 1919, the son of the late Gustave Adolph and Anna Nordling Lindgren. He was in the first class to graduate from Hamden High School in 1936. Mr. Lindgren served in the Army as a Sergeant with the 207th Artillery, attached to the 77th Infantry Unit in the South Pacific. He then built residential homes and additions for many years before becoming the Building Inspector for the Town of Hamden for 23 years. He was a member and Treasurer of New England Building Officials for over 25 years, as well as a member of Connecticut Building Officials for over 23 years, having been past President of that organization. He was also a member of Day Spring Lodge for over 30 years, belonged to V.A.S.A. and was a lifelong member of Bethesda Lutheran Church. Services are private and are under the direction of BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Avenue, Hamden.
