Cody J. Nazarenus

Nov 8, 1993 — Jul 11, 2026

Southington, CT

Cody Joshua Nazarenus, 32, of Southington, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2026. Born in Lakewood, Colorado, on November 8, 1993, to Susan and James Nazarenus II. He is survived by his maternal grandmother, Cynthia Gdovin of Meriden; his paternal grandparents, James (Denise) Nazarenus of Florida, and Marjory Nazarenus of Colorado; his brother, Justin (Brittny) Nazarenus and his sister, Braelyn Autumn.

Cody lived a life that, though far too short, was filled with love, laughter, and memories that will be cherished forever. He will be remembered for his warm heart, his wonderful smile, and his bright blue eyes, framed by his blonde hair- features that reflect the kind and genuine person he was.

Cody found joy in the simple things in life. He was an avid billiards player who enjoyed the challenge and competition of the game, landing him in Vegas for tournaments. He loved spending time fishing with his uncles and cousins; Logan and Peyton. He would never pass up a game of hacky sack with his brother, Justin, in Gram’s backyard, where laughter and time with family created some of his happiest memories. Those moments captured the spirit of who Cody was and will forever hold a special place in the hearts of the those who knew and loved him.

Besides his parents and grandparents, he is survived by his step-parents; David Tempe, Kelly Hoyt; his niece, Zoe; his nephew, Owen; his uncles, Wayne (Chrissy) Gdovin Jr., his Godfather, David (Nicky) Gdovin; Dean (Barb) Nazarenus and Chris Nazarenus, both of Colorado; his step-aunt, Shannon, his step-uncle, Guy; his cousins, Jessica, Dean Jr., Joseph, Lily, Hailey, Logan, Creed, Brian, Samuel, Peyton, Jordyn, and Gracey; along with many other aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever treasure the memories they shared with him. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Wayne Gdovin Sr.

Though Cody’s passing has left an immeasurable void in the hearts of those who loved him, his memories will continue to shine through the stories, laughter and love he leaves behind. Whether remembered at a billiards table, beside a fishing hole, beneath a sky filled with Fourth of July fireworks, or hanging out in Gram’s backyard, Cody’s spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
