Cynthia (Tozier) McCarthy, 67, of Kensington, CT began her heavenly life on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, after numerous medical struggles. She was born in Meriden, CT to Orrison and Ruth (Wollenberg) Tozier and graduated from Maloney High School in 1977. She graduated from Northeastern University in 1984 and began her career as a staff pharmacist at the Hospital of Central Connecticut-New Britain until her retirement in 2022. Early in her career she also worked as a retail pharmacist at several community drug stores.
Cynthia is survived by her husband of 41 years, Kevin, who she began dating in 1974. Also surviving her is her sister, Lynn Tozier of Sandwich, MA, her aunt, Marilyn Kronenberger of Meriden, sister-in-law, Ellen Ness (Ronald), brother-in-law, Edward McCarthy, III (Sharon), nieces, Amanda Caron (Matthew), Erin McCarthy, and Kathryn McCarthy, grand-nephews, Landen and Wyatt Caron, and several cousins.
She was a life-long faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Meriden and served on the Finance, Memorials and Scholarship committees, and enjoyed researching her family genealogy and completing jigsaw puzzles. She and Kevin had a daily competition with several online Wordle games.
Friends are invited to visit with Cynthia’s family on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. in Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 164 Hanover St., Meriden. All attending are invited to meet directly at church. Interment will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
