Dale L. Gallagher, age 80, of Meriden, passed away on September 27, 2017 at his home. Dale was born in Limestone, Maine on July 11, 1937, a son of the late Linwood C. & Veleda (Fitzsimmons) Gallagher. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Janet (Stevens) Gallagher; daughters, Sandra Park & her husband Scott of Meriden, Lynn Gallagher of South Meriden, Karen Hancock & her husband Charles of Meriden, and Susan Backus & her husband Daniel of Colchester; sister, Patricia A. Fowler of Boynton Beach, FL; 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren, his dog Trouble, and several nieces & nephews. Dale was predeceased by his sisters, Janice E. McKenna & Norma R. Mozier, and his brother, Philip L. Gallagher. Dale owned and operated the D & G Overhead Door Company for over 25 years before his retirement, after which he was a School Crossing Guard for the City of Meriden. He always kept active; enjoying his golfing, bowling, playing horseshoes, gardening and working in his tool shed at his home. Spending time with his grandchildren was always special to him. Friends may visit with his family on Saturday, September 30th from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM at BEECHER & BENNETT- FLATOW FUNERAL HOME, 48 Cook Ave, Meriden. His Prayer Service will begin at 10:00 AM in the funeral home, followed by burial in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
