Dana B. Carleton, age 102, of Evergreen Woods, Notch Hill Rd, passed away on December 2, 2011. He was the husband of the late Rebecca Kite Carleton. Dana was born in Portland, ME on April 23, 1909, a son of the late Harold and Alice Dyer Carleton. He worked at the American Steel and Wire division of U.S. Steel for 40 years retiring in 1972 as Plant Superintendent. During retirement he enjoyed wood working and doing projects around the house. Later in life he enjoyed researching the family geneology. Dana is survived by sons, David A. Carleton of North Haven, Thomas E. Carleton of Branford, Richard D. Carleton and his wife Beryl Meiner of Branford; grandson, Max M. Carleton of Boston; niece, Janet Luisi and her husband Richard of GA; nephew, Don Clyde Smith of FL. He was predeceased by his brother Earl O. Carleton. The family would like to thank the staff at Evergreen Woods Medical Unit for providing care and support during his final days. Private services in care of BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave, Hamden. Interment will be in the family plot in Portland, ME.
