Daniel Allan Hume, Jr., 76, of Hamden, passed away on May 5, 2011 at CT Hospice. Born in New Haven on March 21, 1935 to the late Daniel A. Hume, Sr. Retired Deputy Chief HFD and Kathryn Rourke Hume. Daniel is survived by his son Daniel A. Hume III and his wife Elizabeth of Hamden; his loving companion, Laurie Sanford of Killingworth; grandchildren, Jeremy and Karina Hume both of Hamden; nieces, Kathryn and Jane Cogan and Clare Murray. He was pre-deceased by his sister and her husband Kathryn and Bill Cogan. Daniel lived his whole life as a Hamden resident having worked for SNET in the Public Relations Department. He is a US Navy Veteran from the Korean Conflict having served with the Seabees. Funeral to leave BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden, Monday, May 9th at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Rita's Church at 10 a.m. . Burial with Military Honors will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hamden. Friends may also visit with Daniel's family on Sunday evening from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
