David Henry Squires, 71, of Durham, passed away on June 6, 2023 at Yale-New Haven Hospital in New Haven. He was born on August 5, 1951, the son of the late Albert and Jeannie Hooghkirk Squires. David leaves his sisters, Ruth Bacon and her husband William, and Martha Treadwell and her husband Stephen; nieces, Rebekah Treadwell, Emily (Nate) Farnham and children Harper and Harlan, Sarah Treadwell, Sarah (Bill) Ferrero and children Rebecca and Samantha; nephews, Andrew (Allison), Matthew (Molly) and children Joey and Emma, and Benjamin (Angela) Bacon and son Luca. He also leaves behind his good friends Dan, Cathy, Lauren, Randy, Rich, and Rick. David was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Germany before working as a machinist for several manufacturing companies until his retirement.

At Dave's request, there will be no calling hours. Services will be privately held at a later date at the convenience of his family.
