Deborah Whipple Hartenstein, 69, of Meriden, loving wife of Robert Hartenstein for 49 years, passed away on January 17, 2018 with her family by her side. She was born in Hartford, CT on October 9, 1948 to the late Walter and Harriet Haworth Whipple. Along with her husband Bob, she is survived by her loving children, William Hartenstein and wife Megan of Meriden, Keith Hartenstein, and Candace Hartenstein Farnsworth and husband Bruce Jr., of Meriden. She also leaves her brothers Walter Whipple and wife Patty of Burlington, CT, Jeffrey Whipple and wife Diane, of Durham, CT and her cherished grandchildren Kaitlyn Hartenstein Gable and husband Ryan, Colette Dahl, Ryan, Delaney, Kyle, and Kameron Hartenstein, Samantha, Andrew, and Joshua Farnsworth, and one great grandson Jace Gable. Debby was raised in Avon, CT where she graduated from Avon High School. She was a preschool teacher in Meriden and Wallingford for many years until her retirement. In her free time she enjoyed spending time in Indian Neck, Branford where she met the love of her life Bob. The family would like to thank Dr. Fumo and his staff at the Hematology/Oncology department at Midstate Medical Center and a special volunteer Sue, for their loving care. Friends are invited to visit with Debby's family on Sunday, Jan. 21 from 4-7pm in the Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave. Meriden. A service celebrating her life will be held on Monday Jan. 22 at 10 am in the Hartog Building Auditorium in Ashlar Village, Masonicare, Wallingford.
