Diane McNeill Carvalho Tomlinson, 80, of Woodbridge, wife of 16 years to Michael Tomlinson, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2025 at Benchmark at Split Rock in Shelton. Born in Boston, MA on September 15, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Wesley and Lillian McNeill. Diane was the loving mother of Ben Carvalho (Debra) of Liberty Hill, TX and Jennifer Carvalho of Bethany, CT; stepmother of Julie Kavanah (Grant) and Scott Tomlinson (Adrienne), both of Seymour, CT; grandmother of Kristen Cain, Caitlyn, Alexander, and Leif Carvalho; and step-grandmother of Eric and Sydney Marcinko, and Ava and Riley Tomlinson. She was predeceased by her parents, Wesley and Lillian, and her first husband, George Carvalho.

Diane worked as a librarian for the New Haven Public Library for many years, a fitting job for her love of reading books. She also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, gardening, and traveling to Florida with her husband.

Friends are invited to visit with Diane's family on Thursday, June 5 ^th from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider a donation to one of two charities close to her heart, the Wounded Warrior Project and the American Cancer Society .
