In New Haven, May 7, 2003, Dick Carlson, husband of Laura Rascati Carlson of 151 Evergreen Ave., Hamden, father of Leslie Lippman of Doylestown, PA and Glenn Richard Carlson of North Wales, PA, brother of the late Harold O. Carlson, grandfather of Leslie Munro of Jersey Shore, PA, Bethany Carlson-McMahon of Plymouth Meeting, PA, Laura Lippman and William Lippman both of Doylestown, PA, great-grandfather of Hannah and Alyssa Munro. Also survived by several loving nieces and nephews. Born in New Haven, June 12, 1918 a son of the late Oscar and Elvina Sinckars Carlson. He was a veteran of World War II Army Air Corps. He was a partner at the former Rascati Grocery Store of Shelton Ave., New Haven and was a member of the Miller Association of Seniors, AARP, and Open Door at Spring Glen Church and SAGES-Gateway Community College. An avid golfer at Meadowbrook Country Club playing with his partners, Mike, John and Red. He had played with the Boys Basketball Club of New England in the 1937 Championship and also played basketball in the Army. Funeral from BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 WHITNEY AVE., HAMDEN, Saturday, May 10 at 8:30 a.m. Funeral service will be held at Spring Glen Church at 9:00 a.m. Friends may call Friday (TODAY) from 5-8 p.m. Burial will be at Beaverdale Memorial Park, New Haven.
