Donald Lanier Clarke, 71, of Bridgeport, passed away on January 9, 2022 at St. Vincent Medical Center. He was born in New Haven on May 23, 1950, a son of Enoch and Jacqueline Lewis Clarke. Donald grew up in a home following the Christian faith of his parents. He attended church and was an avid reader of the Bible. Donald was compassionate and would help any other person if he could. He regularly gave donations to a non-profit servicing at-risk and disabled Veterans. Donald loved chess and bicycling. He played bass guitar and the piano. Besides his mother Jacqueline, he is survived by his sister, Carolyn Clarke, brothers; Gary Clarke, Randy Clarke and his wife Olga Martin, and Robert Clarke and his wife Victorine, and nieces and nephews; Aaron and Mael Clarke-Martin, Sean Clarke and his wife Lidgia Clarke, and Mawa Clarke. Donald had been working in the maintenance department at Yale University until his passing.
