MERIDEN - Donald L. Drapeau, 65, died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2004, at MidState Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Barbara Buehrle Drapeau. Born in Meriden on Jan. 15, 1939, he was the son of the late Raymond and Teresa Lakipo Drapeau. He was a graduate of Meriden High School and the University of New Haven and had been employed as an electrical engineer at Walbro until his retirement in 1996. After his retirement he was employed as church secretary at St. John Lutheran Church, where he was active in church affairs. He served in the U.S. Navy. He is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Kamala A. and Carl Zemke and Kelly Drapeau, all of Meriden; a son, Donald L. Drapeau II of Meriden and a granddaughter, Kaylie Ann Zemke of Meriden. The funeral will be held Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004 at 10 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, 520 Paddock Ave., Meriden. The Rev. David R. Brinkley and the Rev. Wallace Merdinyan will officiate. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery in the spring. Relatives and friends may call Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Beecher and Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden.
