MERIDEN - Donald Paul Stephens, 80, of 186 Gwen Road, died Sunday, May 29, 2005 at MidState Medical Center. He was the husband of Elizabeth Backus Stephens. He was born in Meriden, Sept. 16, 1924, a son of the late Paul and Ruth Cooke Stephens. He had served in the U.S. Coast Guard and worked as a tool designer until his retirement from the Waterbury Farrel Company in Cheshire. He was a fifty-year member of thr First United Methodist Church. Donald was devoted to his family and enjoyed sports and gardening. Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Jane Tahmoush of Arlington, MA and two grandchildren, Kathryn Tahmoush and Stephen Tahmoush, both of Arlington, MA. He was predeceased by a son, Paul Tahmoush and a sister, Ruth Hushak. A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 2 at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church. Relatives and friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Beecher & Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
