Donna L. Mongillo of Southington, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Donna was predeceased by her husband, Peter C. Mongillo, Jr., with whom she shared 45 years of marriage. She was also predeceased by her parents, David and Teresa Lynne, and by her brother, Paul.

She leaves behind her son, Peter Mongillo and his wife, Rebecca D'Orsogna, of Centerport, New York, along with their children, Charlotte and Evan. She is also survived by her daughter, Carolyn Mongillo and her husband, Cervantes Moquete, of Southington, Connecticut, and their son, Maximo Moquete.

Donna graduated from Southington High School before earning a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from University of Bridgeport and later a Master's in Public Health from University of Hartford.

She gave generously of her time and heart throughout her life. She spent many years volunteering at the Southington YMCA, where she was recognized for her dedication and service. Donna welcomed many into her home over the years, making space for both pets and people.

She had a lifelong love of and interest in meteorology, finding joy in following the weather. She also loved to spend time on the beaches of the Dominican Republic and Maine.

Donna treasured the simple joys in life, such as cold ice cream and her faithful dogs. She especially enjoyed her daily phone calls with her dear best friend, Pat. The two loved talking, laughing, and keeping up with everything together, and their friendship meant so much to her. Donna will be missed by all those who knew her.

Friends may visit with Donna's family on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden, CT.
