Doris Rieger Augur, 70, loving wife of 51 years of Clifford E. Augur, Jr. of Crest Ave. East Haven, passed away July 10, 2006 after a brief illness. She was born in Kearny, NJ, Jan. 26, 1936 a daughter of the late Joseph T. and Doris McElrath Rieger and lived in Hamden before moving to East Haven in 1987. She was employed at the Easter Seal Goodwill Rehabilitation Center in New Haven as a clerical instructor for 20 years before her retirement in 2001. Mrs. Augur was member of Christ Church of West Haven and St. Andrews Episcopal Church of Spring Hill, Fl. Doris loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great- grandchildren, and also enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and painting. In addition to her husband she is survived by her children and spouses, Clifford E. "Gale" Augur III of WH., Patricia Augur "Fred" Ferrara of Prospect, Bradley J. "Yetta" Augur of Cheshire, Nancy Augur "Michael" Mongillo of Cheshire, 3 sisters, Jean Rich of Somerville, SC, Virginia Pope of Wallingford, Joanne Strait of Milford, a step brother, Kenneth Bailey of Guilford, 10 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Eileen Crane, a granddaughter, Jessica Lynn Mongillo, and a step brother Arthur Bailey. Funeral from BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 WHITNEY AVE., HAMDEN, Friday morning July 14, at 10:15 a.m. Funeral service in Christ Church, Church St., West Haven at 11 a.m. Interment in East Lawn Cemetery.
