Wallingford - Doris Stafford Overstrom, 75, of 8 Tankwood Road, died peacefully at her home Sunday April 29. Doris was born in Meriden March 23, 1932, a daughter of the late Percy Leonard and Mildred Evelyn Backus Stafford. She had worked as a Telephone Operator at SNET until her retirement. She loved gardening and spending time with her granchildren. She is survived by a daughter and her husband Karen and Paul Kupfer of Meriden, three sons Robert E. Overstrom Jr. of Montana, Gene S. Overstrom of Wallingford, Mark A. Overstrom of Meriden, a sister and her husband Lois and Fred Nason of Westfield, MA., two brothers John "Jack" Stafford of TX, Robert Stafford of FL, two grandchildren Christina and Greg Bergin of Golden, CO, Geoffrey A. Kupfer of Meriden and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their thanks to Bob and all the staff at CT Hospice for their loving care. There will be a memorial service on Saturday, May 5 at 10:00am at the Hubbard Chapel at Walnut Grove Cemetery, Meriden. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405, or to the First United Methodist Church of Meriden, 159 East Main St., Meriden, CT 06450.
