Marlborough- Doris Putnam, 87, formerly of Meriden, passed away Sat., Nov.12, 2005 at Marlborough Convalescent Home. She was the wife of the late Stephen G. Putnam. Born July 23, 1918 in Mapleton, Maine she was the daughter of the late Herman and Grace (Clevette) Rundstrom. She was a switchboard operator and receptionist for the former Unimax Corp. in Wallingford and a member of Calvary Baptist Church for over 50 years until she moved to be closer to her daughter. Mrs. Putnam was a member for over 50 years of the Order of the Eastern Star, Meridian Lodge No. 8, of which she was past matron, past matron of the Order of the Amarath and past Mother Adviser for the Rainbow Girls, Meriden Assembly. She was also a member of the ASHIA Temple, Daughter of the Nile, the Spinx Ladies and Meriden Women's Club. The family wishes to thank the Marlborough Convalescent Home and the hospice nurses who gave such exceptional care to their mother and grandmother. She is survived by a daughter and her husband, Pauline and Roger Richard of East Hartford, Ct, two grandchildren and their spouses, Jeffrey and Robin Richard of Ashford, Ct and Julie and Joseph Romanowski of Colchester, three great-grandchildren who were the lights of her life; Christopher and Chase Richard and Mason Romanowski. She also leaves two sisters, Lois Koncki of Meriden and D.Hester Smith of Florida. She was predeceased by many brothers and sisters. Memorial Service Sunday, November 20, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at the Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden.
