Dorothy Elaine Neuman, 93, of Meriden, wife of the late Carl Neuman, passed away at Middlesex Hospital on May 20, 2023. Born in Los Angeles, CA on August 24, 1929 to the late Fred and Frances Ritchie Geissler, Elaine spent most her life in Los Angeles before she and her husband moved to Meriden to be closer to family upon their retirements. Besides working in a factory making televisions, Elaine was also a homemaker while her son was growing up. She was an avid gardener with a green thumb, which showed in her pristine yard. A devout Lutheran, Elaine was an active member of her church, whether in Los Angeles or Immanuel Lutheran in Meriden.
Elaine will be lovingly remembered by her son and daughter-in-law, David and Lori Neuman; grandchildren, Debbie Miller and Adam Miller, great-granddaughter, Agnes Miller; nephew, Don Maleto, Sr; great-nephew, Don Maleto; and cousin, Ray Moncevicius and his wife Barbara. Predeceased by her siblings, Margerie Robertson and Fred Geissler; and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Lou and Leona Maleto.
Family and friends are invited to a Graveside Service celebrating Elaine's life on Saturday, May 27th at 11:00 a.m. in Gethsemane Cemetery, 76 Bee Street, Meriden, CT. BEECHER & BENNETT-FLATOW FUNERAL HOME, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden in care of arrangements.
