Dorothy T. Richardson, 91, of Wallingford, wife of the late Lee V. Richardson, passed away on February 9, 2014. Born October 11, 1922 in New Haven to the late Joseph and Vandina Stephens Fidalgo. Mother of Richard Pouncey Sr. of West Haven, Charlette Topley-Bird of England, Terez Murphy of Tolland, Lea Oliver and her husband Elliott of CA; sisters, Ernestine Murray & Lorraine Fidalgo both of New Haven; daughter-in-law, Margie Pouncey of New Haven. Dorothy also leaves a multitude of grandchildren, great-grandchildren & great great-grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. Predeceased by her sons, Ronald and Doug Pouncey; sister, Gloria Stoute; brothers, Ernest Saunders, Melvin Williams, Sr. & Lorenzo Fidalgo; and sons-in-law, Bryan Murphy and Martin Topley. Dorothy was a bookkeeper for JCPenney for many years. She was a volunteer at the Masonic Home and Skyview Hospital in Wallingford. A very active lady, Dorothy loved volunteering, walking, traveling, nature, reading and gardening. She will be sadly missed by many family members and friends. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Saturday, February 15th from 8 to 10:00 a.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden followed by her Funeral Service in the funeral home at 10:00. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven.
