Dorothy W. Turner, 88, of Cheshire, passed away suddenly on July 4, 2012. She was the wife of the late Charles F. Turner. Born in New Brunswick, NJ on May 5, 1924 to the late H. Ralph and Helen Smith Whiteman. Dot leaves her children, Donna Turner Barone and her husband Douglas of Sherborn, MA, Karlee Etter of Hamden, Keith Turner and his wife Jennifer of Jackson, MS; grandchildren, Elisabeth Barone O'Neal, Michael Etter, Brianna Etter Speaker, Caroline Barone, and Graham Turner. Dorothy grew up in New Brunswick, NJ where she also taught for many years. She has lived in the New Haven area for the last 55 years and was a long time member of the Mt. Carmel Congregational Church. She was always active in her home communities as well as her church community. For the last 8 years, Dorothy has lived at Elim Park where she contributed to the care of the gardens and her fellow neighbors. She was a lover of people, pets and plants. Friends are invited to her Memorial Service on Friday, July 13th at Elim Park in Cheshire in Nelson Hall at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be private.
