Meriden - Douglas W. Atkinson, 79 of Crescent St., passed away Sunday, May 23, 2004 at Miller Memorial Convalescent Home. He was the husband of Elizabeth (Pitcher) Atkinson. Born Sept, 12, 1924 in Portland, Maine he was the son of the late Albert and Anna (Melass) Atkinson. Douglas worked as a Production Controller at Fafnir Bearing Co., in New Britain for 32 years retiring in 1983. He was a verteran of WW II having served in the U.S. Army. Besides his wife Elizabeth, he is survived by a daughter and her husband, Nancy and John Federkiewicz of New Britain, a son, Keith D. Atkinson of Meriden and three grandchildren, Aimee, Kyle and Adam Federkiewicz all of New Britain. There wil be no funeral services. Arrangements are under the direction of Beecher & Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden.
